KICK-OFF FOR THE FIRST VORN ACADEMY PROGRAM!
Already this October we will start with our first VORN Academy as part of our Innovation Lab Program and are already looking forward to eight weeks of intensive, inspiring and boundary-crossing collaboration. From October 17 to December 9, we will bring together ten international fashion talents with our partners Zalando, Unity and Kornit in Berlin in our VORN Academy. We are proud to have three industry leaders from e-commerce and marketing, digital creation and NFT, and automation and customization at our or our participants' side.
The focus is on circular fashion design and digital creation. The goal is to design and implement a phygital circular fashion capsule Collection. The results of the first VORN Academy will be presented to the public at a showcase at Berlin Fashion Week in January 2023. For the implementation of the collections, our talents will have access to Berlin's circular fashion infrastructure and our multiplier networks.
The ten participating designers and labels are Judith Bondy, Oversized Studio, Haderlump Berlin, Trashy Muse, Alexis Mersmann, Polygondressing, Melisa Minca, Tanja Bombach, Idan Yoav and Nina Jurcic with MaisonDao. Contributors include Circular Fashion, Sqetch, Benefical Design Institute, Good Garment Collective and Grafis CAD Software. Coaching and technical support from experienced trainers from the industry help participants to round out their skillsets and apply their newly learned knowledge to their design work.
The nature of our support is holistic and the support extends beyond the actual campaign period. We also assure participants full ownership of their designs, ideas and the intellectual property of their work. For the duration of the VORN Academy, all talents will receive a fully equipped workspace and a net remuneration of the 8-week course in the amount of 3000 Euros. The first VORN Program starts in October with a kick-off and a concept workshop. Then, in November, the talents will start creating and sampling their capsule collection, among other things, in joint group work. In December, the program concludes with experience design, a final presentation and, of course, a team party.
