OUTFIT NO.1

DARK, HELPLESS, AND DYSTOPIAN AT ITS CORE

DYSTOPIAN STREETWEAR

The Dysfunction outfit is a collection of 8 modular pieces, designed in a dystopian streetwear style featuring prints of rust, cracks, and oil spills. It includes pants, a long-sleeve shirt, a hood, a sweater, knee cuffs, a corset headpiece, and a cropped jacket. The outfit is designed to reflect the feeling of discomfort when the human body tends to withdraw and shield itself from the world that is broken and toxic. The layers, the corset headpiece, and the hood are all elements that cater to the need of hiding and protect oneself in times of uncertainty. The outfit is meant to evoke these feelings, and to reflect the human need to hide and protect oneself in the face of a world spiraling out of reason.

THE WEIGHT
OF THE WORLD
ON YOUR SHOULDERS

Dysfunction conveys the feeling of not being in control, being overwhelmed by the scale and complexity of the problems we face, and the frustration when realizing they are deeply rooted in systemic issues with complex interdependencies that cannot be easily resolved or understood by individuals or society.

Corporations have been shifting the responsibility for change onto their customers, making it feel as though the burden on individuals is greater than ever before. We are left feeling that we are merely paying to survive and that the illusion of happiness is all we can strive for.

It seems that there is no way to escape the dysfunctional system, which appears to be functioning perfectly normally on the surface.

EACH SEASON BRINGS NEW TEMPTATIONS, BUT HAVE YOU EVER STOPPED TO CONSIDER IF WE'RE TRULY MOVING FORWARD OR JUST STUCK IN A DOWNWARD SPIRAL?
